These messages provide users with a link in order to enable the Internet-free WhatsApp service, which directs the user to a website called ‘free-whatsapp.in’. or Other Site Links.

This fake/unauthorized webpage asks you to add your contact number and name for further authentication. If a user falls for the trap, the same message along with ‘free-whatsapp.in’ link automatically gets sent further to 08 other users and three random groups in their WhatsApp contact list.
